LESSON HORSES

We love our lessons horses — they truly are the backbone of Lenux Stables & Riding Academy. Without them, we couldn't introduce horseback riding to newcomers, beginning and intermediate riders wouldn't be able to advance their skills, and there would be no show riders pursuing their competitive equestrian dreams.

MISTY

Misty is a favorite with our riders, drivers, and staff here at Lenux! Mr. Quintus purchased Misty as one of his very first horses when she was just a baby. Misty is over 20 years old and can teach beginner to advanced lessons. Misty has the smoothest canter and loves to do pattern work. Her favorite thing to do is go to the horse shows and help us get our new riders in the ring. Misty is a member of the Academy Nationals Lesson Horse Fall of Fame. Misty is well known for her vocals, as she is very talkative when it comes to her food and her treats!

BLUE

Blue is our biggest horse here and is a beautiful bay gelding. Blue loves to each our tiniest riders and our oldest riders. He has the biggest personality and has never met a stranger! Blue gets along with any horse and rider, and loves to be social. If Blue is not teaching lessons, you can find him with his two best friends, Murphy and Spicey!

BOB

Bob has a huge fan club here at Lenux! Bob is only 10 years old and is very snuggly in the stall. He loves any and all attention, and will keep his head in your lap all day. Bob loves to go to our academy horse shows and is everyone's favorite to ride. Bob has helped a handful of Lenux riders earn national titles over the years, and started showing in academy and teaching lessons at just three years old!

MURPHY

Murphy can do it all! Murphy loves to teach, do pattern work, and go to academy horse shows. Murphy was a show horse a long time ago, and thinks he still is when he hits the ring! He lights up the ring on any occasion and is very attached to his two best friends, Blue and Spicey!

SPICEY

Spicey is one of our sweetest lesson horses! She is very friendly to all people and to any animal. Spicey teaches beginner to intermediate riders, and loves to canter! She also loves to go to academy shows and help her riders learn to navigate the ring. When Spicey is not teaching or at a show, you can find her out in the field with her best friends, Blue and Murphy!

WILLIS

Willis has a huge fan club here at the barn! Willis used to be an Amish horse and came to us soon after. He is a true Saddlebred and loves to work! He has a powerful trot and a sweet manner.

THUNDER

Thunder has been a part of the Lenux Stables lesson program for some time and gives riders the chance to step up to more of a "show horse" type of ride. Feel the Thunder!

TALULAH

Of our two Friesian horses, Talulah may be the smaller one, but her energy is second to none. She always gives it her all and even canters! Our more advanced riders love Talulah!

FROUKJE

FroukJe is the bigger of our two Friesians and has a big heart and sweet soul as well. This big, beautiful girl has a lofty trot and has become an important part of our lesson program.

MISS PICKLES

Miss Pickles is probably our sweetest lesson horse and is very popular with our riders and staff. She loves to do beginner lessons! In her off time she is usually hanging out in the pasture with her best friend, Pearl.

GAVIN

Gavin is a very big and showy American Saddlebred. He is another horse who gives riders the feel of a show horse with a lesson horse demeanor. We love having Gavin as part of our lesson program!

BUBBLES

With a smooth trot and an even smoother canter, Bubbles is clearly a favorite among the Lenux riders and staff! With his beautiful blond mane and tail and large white blaze, Bubbles really stands out in a crowd!

MOONIE
